He is survived by: his wife Janet Wise Gilbert of Molena; his daughters, Cresta Barber (Shawn) of Williamson and Claire Helms (Jonathan) of Molena; his siblings, Jimmy Gilbert of Concord, Robbie Gilbert of Griffin and Nyoka Gilbert Rowe of Acworth; and his grandsons, Matthew Davis, John Austin Barber, Gage Helms, Myles Helms and Jake Helms.
