With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frances Ann South Mitchell of Molena, Georgia, who passed away on December 28, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Charlie Purgason and Nora Lee Adams Purgason; her husband Julian Lynn "Bud" South; and her former husband X. E. Mitchell. She is survived by: her son Rev. Tim South (Darlene) of Molena; her brother Don Purgason of Newnan, GA; her granddaughters, Kim Hawley (Mike) of Littleton, CO, Kelly Montgomery (Nick) of Thomaston, Kristy Legg (Kyle) of Thomaston and Bridgett Goggins of Littleton, CO; and her great grandchildren, Mikey Hawley, Erika Legg, Landon Legg, Trent Legg, Madiline Legg, Loretta Montgomery, Riley Montgomery, Emily Montgomery and Grayson Montgomery.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home (628 N Church St, Thomaston, GA 30286). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
