We are sad to announce that on January 28, 2024, at the age of 81, Emma Smoot-Mayfield of Molena, Georgia, born in Forsyth, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Dalton Archer and Lou Venie Rampley Archer; her husbands, James Smoot and Tommy Mayfield; her daughter Deanne Smoot; her stepson David Mayfield; and her siblings, Clyde D. Archer, Mary Lou Bennett, Annie Bell Caldwell, JohnThomas Archer, Christine Randolph and Sandy Nicholson.

She is survived by: her grandsons, Josh Melton and Christopher Melton; her brothers, Grady Archer and George Archer; her stepdaughter Melissa Cato (Tim); and her stepgranddaughter Jessica Cato. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
