He was predeceased by: his father Reverend James H. Smith; his grandparents, Reverend Bill, Helen Ruth Smith, Steve and Marcella Allen; his uncle Thomas Allen; and his aunt Louise Hawkins.
He is survived by: his mother Ruth Verner; and his siblings, Daphne Martin (Kenny) of Turtletown, Tennessee, Chad Green (Kelley) of Mineral Bluff, Georgia and Haley Ayers (Lew) of Talking Rock. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
