He was predeceased by: his parents, Waymon Luther Gunter and Maggie Bess James Gunter; and his siblings, Lucille Baker, H. B. Gunter, Glenn Gunter, Glynnis Nicholson (Jill), Bill Gunter, Pat Adams, Grace Barnes, Frankie Gunter, Waymon Gunter, Hubert Gunter and Bobby Gunter.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Gunter of Mineral Bluff; his brother Harrison Gunter of Temple; his children, Doug Gunter, James Gunter (Wanda), Jason Gunter (Alleath) and Crystal Williams (Wayne) of Fruithurst, AL; and his grandchildren, Douglas Gunter (Lisa), Erika Turner (Matt), Danielle Lumpkin (Josh), Magan Hightower (Kevin), Jessica Capps (Jeremy), Bethany Gunter (Klay Saxon), Brandon Murphy (Jennifer), Kaleb Murphy (Hailey), Ashley Mott (Daniel), Alyson Barber (Michael) and Mady Williams. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service or visitation in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions. (No more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time).
