He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Jackson Heaton Sr. and Opal Bennett Heaton; his wife Beverly Gilliam Heaton; and his siblings-in-law, Patty Buchanan Heaton and Carlton Hicks.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Heaton (Blythe Dawson) of Mineral Bluff, GA and Beth Heaton Pless (Nathan) of Mineral Bluff, GA; his grandchildren, Hayden Heaton, Leah Heaton and Dexter Dawson; his siblings, Farion Heaton of Mineral Bluff, GA, Karen Hicks of Blue Ridge, GA, John (Cindy Heaton) and Jim (Renee Heaton); and his pet Maleigh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
