He is survived by: his wife Gloria Head Coates; his children, Donna Coates, Michael Coates (Tammy) and Kerry Coates (Tawni); his grandchildren, Brandi Kilchriss (Brad), Lyndi Rentz, Sean Coates (Raven), Emily Bostwick (Michael), Courtney English (Marcus), Hailey Coates, Kyle Coates, Quaid Coates and Austyn Coates; his great grandchildren, Taylor Chambley, Jordan Jester, Lane Chambley, Katelyn Rentz, Gracie Kilchriss and Logan English; his siblings, Dwight Coates (Ann), Brenda Armistead and Diane Palmer (Anthony); his siblings-in-law, Larry and Debra Head; and his close friends, Geraldine Martin and Lana Jackson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
