He was predeceased by: his wife Edith Wheat; his parents, Henry Wheat and Harriet Mary Wheat; and his siblings, Henry Wheat (Edna), George Wheat (Ethel), Evelyn Sells (Fred Sells), Charles Wheat (Beryl), William Wheat (Betty), Robert Wheat (Janine), Helen Jones (Ivor) and Alan Wheat (Louise).
He is survived by: his sister Dinah Caple (Roger); his children, Stephen Wheat and Gillian Wheat Appleton; his grandchildren, Christopher Guros (Elissa Schuett), Megan Guros and Ian Wheat; and his great grandchild Laurel. He is also survived by many in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Pike County American Legion Post 197.
