He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gilliard of Washington and Emma Dora Thigpen Gilliard; his wife Louise Hardee Gilliard; and his brothers, Robert, Leroy, Larry and Reavis Gilliard.
He is survived by: his children, Wesley Talmadge Gilliard, Jr. (Tina) of Millwood, Emma Jean O'Berry (Charlie) of Manor and Melissa Ann King (Scott) of Jamestown; his grandchildren, Brittany Burch (Mark) of Nicholls, Courtney Lee O'Berry of Waresboro and Brandon King of Waycross; his great grandchild Lexis Burch; and his siblings, Elouise Spivey, Louise Wilson (Richard), Ed Gilliard (Marie) and Leo Gilliard (Barbara). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
