He was predeceased by : his parents, Margaret Wilson and Edward Wilson; and his brother-in-law Daniel Smith. He is survived by : his children, Matt Wilson (Leigh Ann) of Eatonton and Meghan Wages (Brian) of Woodstock; his sister Sherri Smith of Millen; his granddaughters, Emerson Wages, Adelyn Wages, Ruth Wilson and Mollie Wilson; his nephew Rhett Smith; and his niece Tori Osteen.

A graveside service was held on Sunday, June 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Millen Cemetery (1029 College Ave, Millen, GA 30442). Visitation was held on Sunday, June 30th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
