She was predeceased by: her husband Jack B. Pepper; her son James Dewberry; her parents, E. L. Steele and Ola Steele; and her siblings, Kenneth Steele and Shirley Steele Barnes.

She is survived by: her children, Linda Berry (Richard) of Panama City, Florida, Michael Dewberry (Nora) of Crystal River and Paul Dewberry (Kandy) of Waynesboro, Georgia. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
