He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Hampton Mixon and Ida James Mixon; and his siblings, Earl Mixon of Wetumpka, AL and Sara Mixon Cook of Millen. He is survived by: his son Herbert "Herbie" Mixon (Angela) of Augusta; his sister Margaret M. Johnson of Millen; and his grandchildren, Hanna, Faith Hines, Deshaun Crawford, Makayla Mixon and Donovan Mixon of Augusta. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
