Wynnette Whitelsey Samper Obituary
Ida Wynnette Whitelsey Samper age 80 died Saturday, February 17, 2018. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Young Nguyen officiating. Burial will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Samper was a native of Macon but had made her home in Milledgeville.
She received her B.S. from Mercer University and her M.A. in English from Georgia College. She taught Spanish at Georgia Military College for many years. Mrs. Samper was preceded in death by her father and mother Laurie and Johnnie Treadway Whitelsey, a daughter Ana Samper, a son Luis Samper and a sister Laurie Taylor. Survivors include her husband Dr. Luis Samper of Milledgeville; her son Ricardo Samper (Mickie) of LaGrange; daughter Maria Thorne (Mark) of Milledgeville; grandchildren: Travis Riner, Rebecca Riner, Christopher Riner, Ryan Thorne, Dylan Thorne, Brooke Knight, Brandi Sheppard and Brittini Clements, seven great grandchildren and her special caregiver Barbara Edwards.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Council of Catholic Women at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 110 N. Jefferson St. Milledgeville, GA 31061.
