He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Dorsey Simmons, Sr. and Norma Elizabeth Babb Simmons; his daughter Emily Michelle Deraney; and his siblings, Alice Simmons, Randy Simmons and Darryl Simmons.
He is survived by: his wife Gayle Hutchins Simmons of Milledgeville; his daughters, Britt McRae (Ed) of Milledgeville and Kim Hofilena (Mark) of Grove Town; his siblings, Michael Simmons and Meri Barclay (Tom) of Milledgeville; and his grandchildren, Alex McRae, Emma McRae, Ashley Guy (Daniel), Ryan Brown (Kristin) and Cory Jones (Jamie). He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
