He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mark Poole and Mary Harper Poole; and his son Robert E. Poole, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Shirley McLeroy Poole; his children, Scarlett Martin Goddard (Nick) of Eatonton and Mark L. Poole (Kim) of Stockbridge; and his grandchildren, Katie Lauren Murphy of Milner, Kassie McClain of Milledgeville, Noah Goddard of Eatonton, James Robert Lewis, Jr. and Marky Lewis.
