She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Cooper, Sr. and Pauline Cooper; and her sister Kay Cooper Rauscher. She is survived by: her husband Dewitt Byrd; her daughter Cathy Smith (Randy); her grandchildren, Shane Knighton (Kirstie), Jennifer Nunn (Travis), Amy Phillips (Chad), Ashley Mangus (Geoff), Tori Roberts (Dane), Joey Tinsley (Laura) and Ross Byrd; her great grandchildren, Katie, Haley (Thomas), Nathan, Naomi, Joelly, Raylan, Ruth, Tripp and Mark; and her siblings, Peggy Cox and Virgil Cooper Jr..
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Moores Funeral Home (2896 N Columbia St, Milledgeville, GA 31061). A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
