She was predeceased by: her husband William H. Smith; and her brothers-in-law, William "Bill" C. Short and Elmer "Buddy" Doswell. She is survived by: her children, Dennis Smith (Sherri) of Milledgeville, Ramona "Mona" Turner (Neil) of Gray and Greg Smith (Kaye) of Deepstep; her grandchildren, Alesha Calvert (Travis Daniel), Dana Calvert (Tinsel) and William "Will" Smith (Paige); her stepgrandchildren, Angela Turner Bloodworth and Louie Turner (Tulai); and her sisters, Beverly Short of Milledgeville and Angelyn Doswell of Blakely. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and great nieces and nephews.
