He is survived by: his wife Betty Herring Powell; his daughters, Jennifer Powell Herring (John), Tracy Michelle Powell and Crystal Powell; his siblings, Elaine Miller (Peter) of Marietta, Cosby Powell of Milledgeville and Eddie Powell of Madison; his grandchildren, Amber Powell Brown of Brunswick, J. R, Rylan Herring, Tucker Herring, Viola Herring, Ila Nelson and Caleb Nelson; his great grandchildren, Aiden and Olivia Brown; and his nephew Chad Powell.
