He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Susan Kathleen Reed; his sons, Michael James Reed (Cathy Reed) and Joe Freeman Williams (Latasha Williams); his grandchildren, James Darwin Reed (Paige Jackson), Michael James Reed II (Cindy Reed), Emily Susan Jane Davenport (Brandon Davenport), Joshua Ryan Reed (Vanessa Reed), Julia Lynette Hufnagel (Harrison Hufnagel), Micholas Jae Reed and Makayla Jade Reed; his great grandchildren, Michael Reed, Joseph Reed, Elijah Davenport, Alivia Reed, Austin Reed and Asher Reed; his sons, William Stanley Reed, Steven Allen Reed and Matthew Jason Reed; his parents, William Reed and Barbara Jane Reed; and his grandparents, Delbert Bradshaw and Violet Bradshaw. He was also cherished by father to his 4 boys, Many Nieces and Nephews as well as close friends.
