He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sherman Carpenter and Martha Inez Lord Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Nan Davis Carpenter; his daughter Karyn Carpenter Martin (Ken Martin) of Jefferson; his grandson Matthew Davis Martin (Payton Cox); his niece Melinda Lawrence Leonard (Greg Malhoit) of Raleigh, NC; his nephew George Lawson Lawrence of Milledgeville; and his great-nephews, Bart Lawrence, Matthew Leonard and Justin Leonard.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and at 3:30 PM.
