He is survived by: his wife Sandra Graham Anness of Milledgeville; his children, Dana Simpson of California, Aimee Boutwell (Johnny) of Macon, Curt Spires (Brandy) of Gray and Bryndon Elling of California; his brother Robert Anness (Darlene) of Missouri; his grandchildren, Paul Velasco, Cole Simpson, Dakota Lewis, Katelyn Spires, Christian Spires and Lilly Boutwell; and his great grandchildren, Wyatt Barreras and Caleb Velasco.
