He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathe Lewis and Mary Lou Reynolds Lewis; his wife Lynda Marion Hattaway Lewis; his son Jack Lewis; and his sister Faye Avant.
He is survived by: his children, Barry Lewis (Jackie) of Deepstep and Lisa Thigpen (Johnny) of Milledgeville; his daughter-in-law Angela Lewis; his sister Brenda Tanner (Johnny) of Deepstep; his brother-in-law Larry Avant of Deepstep; and his grandchildren, Scott Lewis (Michelle), Daniel Lewis (Katie), Tara Roberts (Chris), April Davis, Chad Arnold, Casey Carroll (Trey) and Keri Sumner (William). He is also survived by great grandchildren.
