He was predeceased by: his parents, William Allen Johnson and Polly Emily Batchelor Johnson; his wife Martha "Gwen" Ward Johnson; his son Edward Johnson; and his brother Vaughn Johnson.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael "Kuntry" Johnson (Elisa) of Milledgeville and William Bloodworth (Cindy) of Florida; and his brother Charles Ray Johnson (Diane) of Milledgeville. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
