He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill DeLong, Sr. and Doris Irene Steadman DeLong; his son Mark DeLong; his former wife Evie Mae DeLong; and his brother-in-law Jeffrey Kraig Henderson.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Fisher DeLong; his children, Bill DeLong (Renea), Barry DeLong and Sylvia McMullen; his siblings, Dr. Donald "Donnie" DeLong (Dawn), Kenneth "Kenny" DeLong (Maggie), Gail Henderson and Lisa Spivey (Brian); his stepchildren, Cecil "Bo" Johnson (Melissa), Carla Payne and Melinda Arnold; and his close friend Glenn Pettigrew. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
