She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Hill Thomas, Jr. and Penelope Wall Thomas; her brother Joseph Hill Thomas, III; and her son-in-law David Brantley. She is survived by: her husband Guilford "Guil" Mauldin, Jr. of Milledgeville; her children, Tracey Giles Brantley of Sandersville, Dr. William Perry Giles, Jr. (Lori) of Athens and Allison Carol Giles of Sandersville; her granddaughters, Alyssa Giles Sanders (Caleb) of Deepstep, Abigail Giles Wagler (Hunter) of Statham and Margaret "Maggie" Berry Giles of Athens; her great grandchildren, Thomas Jake Sanders and Vera Ann Wagler; her sister Penelope Thomas Smith (Bob) of Sandersville; her stepsons, John Mauldin, Clinton Mauldin and Trey Mauldin; her stepgranddaughter Hannah Mauldin; and her pets, Ruby and Petey. She is also survived by niece, and a number of nephews.
