He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Yawn and Estella Yawn; and his son Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Edith Tilton (Yawn); his children, Richard "Ricky", Lori Atkins (Charles) and David (Lisa); and his siblings, Vira (Raleigh), Edith (Hal), Henry (Linda) and James (Gail). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
