Leroy Alvin Sr. Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 15, 2025, at the age of 89, Leroy Alvin Sr. (Midway, Georgia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Deacon Grant Alvin, Sr. and Flossie Spencer Alvin James; his daughter Essie Mae Alvin; and his siblings, Grant Alvin, Jr., Isaiah Bowens, Clarence Alvin (MP) and Annie Bell McKinnon.
He is survived by: his children, Gwendolyn Stewart (Jimmie) of Riceboro, GA, Ricky Alvin (Maggie) of Eulonia, GA, Sarah Singleton (Ted) of Hinesville, GA, Evangelist Cynthia Britton (Elton) of Midway, GA, Brenda Brown (James) of Walthourville, GA, Leroy Alvin Jr. of Riceboro, GA and Ethel Jones of Riceboro, GA.; his sisters, Christine Thompson of Atlanta, GA and Betty Alexander (Nathaniel) of Brunswick, GA; his sister-in-law Evangelist Mary Alvin; and his grandchildren, Dwaine, Darren, Cassandra, Jimmie, James, Tilmon, Katrina, Damion, Algernon and Tulashia. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Dorchester Funeral Home (7842 E Oglethorpe Hwy, Midway, GA 31320). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Zion Missionary Baptist Church (1642 Barrington Ferry Rd, Riceboro, GA 31323).
