He was predeceased by : his parents, John Thomas Collins and Lillie Mae Ellis Collins of Clarksville, GA.; and his siblings, Douglas Collins, Thomas Collins, Richard Collins and Ella Bee Hogan.

He is survived by : his sons, Oliver Collins and Josh Collins; his wife Barbara Sue Collins; his children, Anita Kennedy, Sonia Chastain, Joshua Collins, Anna Bay and Esther Martinez; and his brothers, Clem Collins (Linda) of Hiawassee, GA and J. B. Collins (Mazie) of Lincolnton. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren.
