William Murphy Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Murphy of Midland, Georgia, who passed away on February 6, 2022 at the age of 91. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of William Murphy to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Murphy and Elizabeth Clements Christie (Bessie); his wife Beatrice Millie McDowell; his brothers, Herbert, Joseph (Bud) and James Murphy (Jimmy); and his grandson Nathan Murphy.

He is survived by: his sons, William J. Murphy (Billy), Robert C. Murphy (Sharon), Gary H. Murphy (Shelice), Michael G. Murphy (Debra) and Warren Anthony; his grandchildren, Kelly Thompson (Joe), Robin Bryant (Mike), Ben Murphy, Mychel-Anne Murphy, William Murphy, Isaac Murphy, Michael Murphy, Brandon Murphy, Alexa Silva and Christopher Silva; his great grandchildren, Karley Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Lily Murphy and Ryland Bryant; and his sister Elizabeth "Bessie" Sommerville. He is also survived by his bride, loved their four boys, their brides, his grandkids, his great grandkids and all the pups.

He had quite the busy schedule until COVID derailed it. Monday and Wednesday morning was hospice, Tuesday was Cracker Barrel for lunch, Thursday was grocery shopping at Winn Dixie and then lunch at Ruby Tuesday's, Friday was often a spur-of-the-moment choice and Sunday after church was IHOP.
