He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie L. Carlyle and Bessie Gibbons Carlyle; his siblings, Willie C. Carlyle, Charles E. Carlyle Sr., Oscar Thomas Carlyle, Lee Arthur Carlyle and Sarah L. Carlyle; and his children, Michelle Carlyle, Denver Byrd (Shauna), Ricky Williams (Mae Rose) and Tommy Pierce.
He is survived by: his children, Kelvin Carlyle (Karen) of Atlanta, GA and Sondra J. Mincey of Willingboro, NJ; his goddaughter Jazmine of Florida; his siblings, Samuel L. Carlyle (Deloris), David Carlyle (Gladys) of Twin City, GA, Robert L. Carlyle (Gussie) of Augusta, GA, Janie Parrish, Dorothy Brown, Kathy Manley of Twin City, GA and Bettye Carlyle-Clarke of Savannah, GA.; and his sisters-in-law, Julia M. Carlyle of Warm Springs, GA, Hattie Carlyle of Twin City, GA, Lourine Carlyle of Twin City, GA and Carolyn Mosley of Twin City, GA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
