He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezekiel Chappel and Nellie Gordon Chappel; and his wife Laura Taylor Hendrix. He is survived by: his son Michael Chappel (Genevieve); his stepchildren, Trudie Legree (Joe), Joyce Byrd, Bernard Hendrix, Jr., Carl Hendrix and Kenneth Hendrix; and his close friend Delores Harden. He is also survived by several other family members, his church family and friends.
