He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Edward Phillips and Ethleen Rich Phillips; and his sister Kathleen Wooten. He is survived by: his wife Dorthene Brown Phillips; and his children, Eddie Phillips (Ginger), Rickey Phillips (Lisa), Karen Garrett (Robert), Barbie Strawn (Tommy) and Sandy Phillips. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
