We are sad to announce that on February 26, 2022, at the age of 87, Lewis Eugene Smith of Meldrim, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis D. Smith and Myrtle Seals Smith; his siblings, Dean Smith, Winifred Dowd, Myra Purnell and Sarah Durden; his siblings-in-law, Joe Dowd, Herman Purnell, W. Sutton Durden, J. Elmer Frost and Joan Smith; and his nephews, Mark Smith, Dusty Durden and Kemp Newman.

He is survived by: his sisters, Ione S. Newman and Jeannette S. Frost. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
