She was predeceased by: her father Albert Layne, Sr.; her husband George W. Asbell, Sr.; her great grandchild Stacy D. Atkinson; and her siblings, Stella Wilkes, Albert Layne, Jr. and Walter Layne.
She is survived by: her children, John A. Atkinson, Jr. (Rene) and Deborah J. Richardson; her grandchildren, Jamie C. Atkinson (Lisa), Mitzi Salter (Kenny) and Stanley Grace; and her siblings, Kenneth Layne (Deloris) and Thelma Goodman (Roy). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
