He was predeceased by: his parent James William West; his former wife Mattie Emma Taylor West; his daughters, Karen West and Terry Lee West; and his siblings, James Hugh West, Audrey Jones, Willie Bell Bass and Chloe Nicolini.
He is survived by: his parent Eddie Bell Autry West; his wife Faye Shiver Tatum West of Meigs; his children, Rupert Clifton West, Jr. (Rachel) of Little Mountain, S. C., Clay Tatum (Jill) of Warrior, Gail West of Chapin, S. C., Denise Wiseman of Kenly, N. C. and Paula Tatum Brooks of Moultrie; and his brothers, Lawrence E. "Bud" West of Hartsfield and Malcolm Shelby West (Betty) of Havana, Fla.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
