He was predeceased by: his parent Oscar Nelms of Meigs; his spouse Elaine Nelms; his siblings, Frances Nelms Marcus, Yvonne Nelms Tart, Charles T. Nelms and Thomas R. Nelms The; and also Elsie Nelms.
He is survived by: his parent Myrtice C. Nelms of Meigs; his daughter Denise Lutz of White Marsh; and his siblings, Greta Nelms Sikes of Columbia, SC, Wanda Nelms Baumgardner of Irmo, Carol Nelms of Meigs and Marlon Nelms of Hernando. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
