She is survived by: her husband Alton Gassett; her sons, Ricky Layfield (Debi) of Tifton, GA and Roderick Suber (Amanda) of Thomasville, GA; her grandchildren, Dillon Suber, Faith Toribio, Serenity Suber, Blake Layfield and Jayden Layfield; and her siblings, Gracie Silvas of Okeechobee, FL, Richard Castillo of Cairo, GA, Ray Castillo of Alabama, Ester Thornton of Thomasville, GA, Carol Daughtry of Pelham, GA, Sylvia Eidson of Pelham, GA, Lupe Castillo Meade of Hinsonton, GA and Yolanda Rhoden of Ft. Valley, GA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Whiddon Shiver Funeral Home (10451 US-84 Ste E, Thomasville, GA 31757). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Faith Horizon Ministries (1064 N Pinetree Blvd, Thomasville, GA 31792).
