He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Townsend and Lillian Drake Townsend; and his siblings, Raymond Lee Townsend, Harvey Lee Townsend, Margie Ree Webb and Mary Inez Dorsey.
He is survived by: his siblings, Frances Reese of Meansville, Dorothy Brown of Fayetteville, Bobby Lee (Brenda Townsend) and Aldean (Ellen Townsend). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
