He was predeceased by: his parents, Carey Johnson Brewton and Malatha Lockler Brewton; and his sister Karen DuSapin. He is survived by: his wife Mary F Williams Brewton of McRae; his son Thad Brewton (Karen) of McRae; his grandchildren, Sam Brewton and Bailey Brewton of McRae; and his sisters, Natalie Barfield of Macon and Stephanie Swanson (Larry) of Macon.
