He is survived by: his wife Patsy Spires of McRae; his children, Sylvia Spires of Okeechobee, FL, Nancy Merriman (Bobby) of Live Oak, FL and Charles Spires of McRae; his brothers, Steve Spires (Renee) of McRae and Jack Spires of McRae; his grandchildren, Tiffany Marcum (Trey), Bobby Jr. (Megan) and Christopher Merriman (Jennifer); and his great grandchildren, Makalyn Jones, Collin Jones, Alyssa Marcum and Kristin Merriman.
