We are sad to announce that on September 2, 2020, at the age of 21, Dalton Blain Merritt of McIntyre, Georgia, born in Milledgeville, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father John Leif Merritt. He is survived by: his mother Kiva Marie Hood of McIntyre; his fiancée Sophia Duarte; his daughter Zaleah Duarte; his stepchildren, Tony Duarte and Zoey Duarte; his siblings, Justin Merritt, John Cruz, Faith Merritt and Lesley Cruz; his aunts and uncles, Lyndsey Hood, Victoria Hood, Linda Thornton (John), Ethan Hood (Paige), William Price and David Long; his grandparents, Sharon Hood, Carey Merritt, Carolyn Merritt and Jean Jolly; his great-aunt Debby Smith; and his niece Mariah Cruz. He is also survived by numerous cousins and other relatives.
Due to compromised health situations within the family, the family requests that anyone who attends the visitation to wear a mask, and maintain social distancing.
The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, that friends make memorial donations to assist with expenses.
