With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Tommy Newton Smith of McDonough, Georgia, born in Hampton, Georgia, who passed away on January 10, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Newton Smith Jr. and Ethel Evelyn Huckaby Smith. He is survived by: his wife Gayle Foster Smith; his children, Kelley Powell (Todd), Lori Johnson (Phillip), Amy May (Rod) and Jared Smith (Betsy); his grandchildren, Reid Powell, Jessie Powell, Payton Johnson (Emily), Mitchell Johnson, Brock Johnson, Lydia May, Douglas May, Lizzy May and Brogen Smith; his siblings, Lucretia Sheppard (Ray), Pam Harris (Bernie) and Eddie Smith (Kay); and his brothers-in-law, Mike Foster (Rachel) and Gary Foster. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
