He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Hardwick McLendon and Hattie Louise Doe McLendon; and his brother Jimmy Harold McLendon. He is survived by: his wife Gayle Stallings McLendon; his children, Craig Christopher McLendon (Heather) and Jennifer McLendon Arakelian (Anthony); his grandchildren, Addison Manouk Arakelian and Grayson Andrew Arakelian; his brother-in-law Buddy Stallings; his close friend Buddy Stallings; his sister-in-law Lettie Lang Stallings; and his sister Cathy Louise McLendon. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, extended family.
