Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Samuel Murray Spivey (McDonough, Georgia), born in Swannanoa, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 92, on December 31, 2022. He was predeceased by: his son Michael; and his parents, Luther Spivey and Mary Spivey (Redmon). He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his sons, Sam (Rebecca) and Christopher (Theresa); his daughter-in-law Lisa Spivey; and his friends, Annette "Nettie" Newman, Neil (Kat) and Spence Newman (Jaime). He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, his eleven great-grandchildren.
Before the pandemic, he could be counted on to have a handshake or the special Mr. Sam hug for adults and to have a piece of candy in his pocket for the children.
