He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lester Ayers and Laura Ailene Darnell Ayers; and his brother Edward "Dan" Ayers. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Steele Ayers; his daughters, Cynthia A. Flannery (David) and Amanda D. Walker; his grandson Austin Walker; his brother Sidney Ayers (Pam); his sister-in-law Jan Ayers; and also George Walker. He is also survived by several nieces and Nephews.
