She was predeceased by: her parents, John William Yates and Mary Rebecca Yates (McCallum); her former husband Fred Ernest Berger, Sr.; her husband Edward James Ambrose; her son Gregory Lane Berger; and her siblings, Billy Yates, John William Yates, James E. Yates, George Blake Yates and June Welch.

She is survived by: her children, Fred E. Berger, Jr. (Joyce) of McDonough, GA and Mary Rebecca Pryor (Frank) of Fayetteville, Georgia; her grandchildren, John Berger of Denver, Colorado, Beau Kelley (Julia) of McDonough, GA and Jennifer Perkerson (Tucker) of McDonough, Georgia; her great grandchildren, Bryant Perkerson and Kate Perkerson; and her brother Tommy Yates. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
