She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles St. Clair Harby and Honora Brooks Harby; her husband John W. Mathis, Jr.; and her brother James Harby. She is survived by: her children, Marie Nashed (Robert) of Falls Church, VA, Elaine Gooch (Michael) of St. Augustine, FL and John W. Mathis, III (Elizabeth) of McDonough, GA; her grandchildren, Stephen Nashed (Sarah), Laura Nashed, Alison Lepore (Steven), Brian Gooch (Wendy), Jeff Gooch, John Mathis IV (Heather), Sarah Palmer (Matt) and Rachel Edwards (Jonathan); and her great grandchildren, Slater, Scarlett, Avery, Leighton, Lincoln, Sara, Johnny, Haley, Cooper, Emma, Hazel, Maci and Elizabeth.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors (2580 GA-42, McDonough, GA 30253). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Cannon and Cleveland Funeral Home (2580 GA-42, McDonough, GA 30253). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the City Cemetery.
