He was predeceased by: his parents, James Robert Smith and Opal Louise (Judy); and his sister Robin "Sissy" Baker. He is survived by: his daughter Jill Marie Smith; his wife Rosalyn; his children, Hilary Smith (Giovanni) of Dallas, GA and Jimmy Smith of Atlanta; his stepdaughter Segrid Dennard of Fitzgerald, GA.; his former spouses, Tracey Smith (Angela Rushing) of Nashville, TN, Stephanie Brock (Kyle) of Valdosta, GA, Jason Smith of Nashville, TN and Additionally; and his siblings, Trish Yates and Bobby Smith (Terri) of Marion, OH. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A reception was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors (2580 GA-42, McDonough, GA 30253).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Glaucoma Research Foundation in Jim's honor.
