He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Alvin McGarity and Jettie Belle Greer McGarity; and his siblings, Eugene Greer McGarity, John Alvin McGarity and Bernice Ruth Fausel.
He is survived by: his wife Edith Tanner McGarity; his sister Mary Tingle; his children, Daniel (Linda) and Karen McGarity Lake (Van); his grandchildren, Kim, Jeff and Megan (Chris); and his great grandchildren, Elliott, William, Rose, Marley and Bennett.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors (2580 GA-42, McDonough, GA 30253). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the East Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors (2580 GA-42, McDonough, GA 30253). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church (2957 Mt Carmel Rd, Hampton, GA 30228).
