He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Donald Gilbert and Myrtle Helen Strehmel Gilbert of Lomira, Wisconsin.; and his sister Joyce Gilbert Kumbier of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn "Kathy" Ruth Goodearle Gilbert; his daughters, Rebecca Gilbert (Gavin Rigg) of Rochester, NY and Amy Gilbert (Phil Richardson) of Birmingham, AL; his grandsons, Julian Gilbert-Rigg and Malcolm Gilbert-Rigg; and his brother Howard Gilbert (Jeanne). He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
